A Question and a Funny

Question:
I've been living in the 4,000 word straitjacket for so long, that I have no idea what the "standard" length for a short story is. Do you know?

Funny:
Don't you love it when you get an email from jackhome@hotmail.com, but they sign it as Anne Watkins and the "From:" box says Lissy Grahams?

Maybe that's why Outlook Express calls it "managing identities."

You know what, Spyscribbler? I don't have a clue what the "standard" length for a short story is. I'll look forward to finding out right here, though.

Thank you for stopping by this weekend. I had a great laugh from your comment.

I listed the definitions here: http://writtenwyrdd.blogspot.com/2007/02/varieties-of-short-stories.html

I hope that helps. I think it varies somewhat, but a short story is supposedly up to 5,000 words.
