Thursday Thirteen #9: Renewal & Relaxation

Thirteen Ways I Renew and Relax
  1. Hold my niece while she sleeps.
  2. Take a week off from the day job.
  3. Learn to juggle again.
  4. Do yoga everyday.
  5. Close my eyes, and savor the feeling and flavor of dark chocolate melting on my tongue.
  6. Watch Chocolat.
  7. Breathe.
  8. Drive.
  9. Savor a wonderful meal at The Melting Pot.
  10. Sit and read in front of the fireplace at Borders with a pot of tea.
  11. Lay with the cats in the the bed, and read.
  12. Try Pilates.
  13. Make DH hug me for a loooooonng time. :-)
What do you do to relax? How often do you relax? Do you have to schedule it in, or is it a habit? Or does it just happen when the systems go on strike, LOL?

Okay, don't laugh, but I find spinning to be one of the most relaxing things I do. Yeah, I work myself until I want to throw up. But I also don't think about any of the things that might have been bothering me when I walked in.

That's what makes it relaxing. Weird, huh?

When I have the time, reading, naps, and golf are ways I relax.

LOL, Susan, but I've never tried spinning. A long time ago, when spinning was the newest craze, I worked in a health club.

Because it was so popular, if you worked there, you weren't allowed to go to the spinning class. :-(

So I've never tried it, LOL. I should!

nap, reading, walking, and just sitting in a quiet room -- these do it for me. Holding a baby is hard to beat, though!! One of the greatest feelings in the world. My TT is also posted.

Is your niece an infant? I used to love having my babies sleep on me...I should be doing yogo more on my own, it is so calming.

PS- The secret to negating the calories in cadbury eggs is to eat them standing up!

Journeywoman, that's the best. I'm trying to play games on my computer a little more ... my mind goes totally blank. I'm trying to learn that I can't be 200% on all day. Blank mind is good!

ooohh... such wonderful relaxing ideas... lately I find swimming to be very relaxing as well. But nothing beats chocolate, hugs, and just some plain quiet 'me' time :)

Okay, seriously... how do I relax...

Well, the hammock is always good. Especially with an ice cold beer nearby.

Pilates is energizing and relaxing at the same time--someone flay me here because I haven't been doing it for almost a month!

Some kind of creative craftiness that is NOT writing can be relaxing. Like sewing, needlepoint, etc...

And as always, reading. Reading on a lousy day, all tucked up with a blanket and a cup of cocoa is the best.

Purring kitties relax me, and petting the dog, too. He's such a lovey.

Baths. Hot, with floral salts, and bibbles.
A cut'n paste craft, making gift tags.
Food, drink and books.

We relax in a lot of the same ways!

I'm on the last 2 days of my week off from my day job now! =) I didn't go anywhere special, just needed time away to just BE.

Wish I could pick up #4 and #12 as daily routines... #5 - chocolate is always wonderful!...

I relax by computing (yes!), reading, or taking a nap. Sometimes, I even get on the lawnmower and cut grass with my husband. I love to ride in the wind and think.

Watching Chocolat while eating chocolate - yummy combo.

I too love reading in front of a fireplace, but there's no borders here, so I have to do it in my living room.

Exercising helps me to relax and burn off all the stress of the day. But reading a good book also relaxes me.

Oooh great way to relax. Holding Sumo Baby while he sleeps (because that's the only time I can catch him) totally relaxes me.

I should watch Chocolat again, I haven't seen it in forever.

I need a week off of my EDJ for sure.

I sure do love chocolate, fondue, reading, and holding babies! Driving doesn't relax me b/c the expressways are always full of traffic, but maybe I should try pilates and/or yoga. I haven't juggled since summer camp when I was twelve... maybe I should try that, too...

Hot baths, Kung fu, walking, gardening, playing with my dog, and snuggling with the s.o.

Oh, and I love to drive aimlessly, but I am trying to replace that with walking aimlessly.
