In The Works
Lots of cool things in the works this summer. I’m excited and a bit nervous about it all. It’s alternately exhilarating and terrifying, LOL.
So anyway, I’m gonna disappear for the summer. I’m definitely going to miss you. But please drop a comment any time; I’ll read it and respond. I don’t want to miss anything important in your life! Or drop me an email (see above handle… @gmail.com).
And I can always be found on Facebook. Except it’s been really slow the last the couple days. I’m not sure if it’s my machine or Facebook. :-)
So what have you got in the works for this summer?

41 bonus scribbles:
Writing and reading and napping.
That sounds like a dream, Charles. I'm putting all those on my list! :-)
Enjoy your respite. I'll be editing like a mad man for a while. Then back to querying.
Very cool, Travis! Good luck!
I'll miss you! But will drop a line via Facebook. Enjoy your time!
(Did you hear me honk when I drove passed your town over the weekend?)
First major trip since 2005, this one a cruise up the Danube with a cyber friend.
Then an attempt to pick up an adjuct teaching slot at a couple of local colleges.
Happy summer, Spy!
It's coming into winter here, so think of us.
I can't believe you're disappearing for the entire summer! I'll miss you. I'm working on my wip. First draft is at 75K and I haven't decided exactly how I'm going to end it, so I'm going back through it for an edit hoping that will somehow let me figure it out. On a happy note, I've read through the first two chapters and it's not really awful...LOL.
Enjoy your exhilarating and terrifying summer activities!
Preparing to move and change my life. Nothing big. ;-)
I'll miss you, but I'll be busy too. I'm going to a conference next weekend -- really looking forward to it. Other than that, I don't know what will happen. Of course, I'll be writing and reading. Like Charles, I'll take a few naps.
Selling off what I have and trying to find a new home. In the midst of all that - try to write something useful.
Enjoy your summer.
My BFF and I decided it's the Summer of Me. (for each of us) Mine will include working, writing and losing some unwanted pounds.
Keep in touch!!!
Okay, um... the first three blogs I read every day have all decided to take a hiatus. WTF?
So you'll still be on facebook? Well thank god. Please don't be a stranger.
Kath, was that honking noise?! :-) Did you see me wave?
XD (Which is the new way to say LOL. According to my high school student. I feel so hip.)
Sue, up the Danube? WOW! That sounds like an incredible summer! Have a blast!
Are you serious, McKoala? Wow. I just had to turn my heat on. I'm not sure our summer is going to come.
Liz, I re-read a lot. It takes up a lot of time, but it's the only way I know how to go on!
Heather, that doesn't sound big at all! :-)
Edie, I'll see you on Facebook! :-) Have a blast at the conference!
Bevie, that sure is going around this summer. That just might be one of the things in the works. :-)
Amy, me too! I want to lose weight, read a lot, and of course, write a lot!
Seriously Melanie? Wow. I always meant never to take a break. I'll probably be back in a month or two, but I might move to a new domain.
I'll see you on Facebook! And I'll still read your blogs about projectile vomit!
XD
Well, one thing on my summer list now is not reading your blog! Unfortunately. However, I reckon it's good to take a break and much better to take a planned break than just peter out and vanish for some undetermined period like some of us do. Enjoy!
Enjoy your disappearance! As for summer activities, I'll be revising my WIP.
Looking forward to your return!
I hope you have an awesome summer, Spy! I'll definitely stop in to say "hi". I'm going to go to Boston, go to the beach with the boys and Adam, and write a screenplay. Those are my groovy plans. And I'm doing open mike night at our local comedy club and writing an article for Berks Living.
It looks like a lot when you put it in one paragraph like that.
I'll miss you this summer. I just sent a friend request to you on FB though so hopefully I'll see you on there sometimes. Nothing special going on for me this summer. It's going to be the same ol' same ol' around here :(
Have a fun summer! We'll be here when you get back.
Enjoy your summer, Spy. I plan to do the same old, same old. Work, family, write. Not necessarily in that order.
Have two books to revise and start shopping out, another to read over and figure out why an editor thought the ending was "contrived" and an urban fantasy that's been buzzing around in my head for the past month.
Writing and renovating. As usual.
I'll see you around Facebook.
Gonna miss your posts. They always inspire.
See you in September!
Kid stuff, out-of-town visitors, writing, reading. Have a great summer!!
Hey Spy, have a fabulous summer! I'll be editing my latest, when I'm done, and enjoying the sunshine with my family! We always pack as much fun in the sun as we can, and it always goes by way too fast.
Have a fun summer!
Writing, horses, camping...
What? You're taking a summer blogging vacation?
Hmmm. Wish I had thought of it first. LOL. Nevertheless, have fun and good luck with the "cool things in the works", hon. ;-)
You are such a copycat!!
Just kidding, Spy. Enjoy your sabbatical and can't wait for you to return.
Hope you're enjoying your break, spyscribbler. I'm not on facebook yet, still getting to grips with blogging. You're going to have a million comments here by the time you return. Miss you. Looking forward to hearing about your summer and catching up.
My summer? Filled with book signings, author talks ... and writing Book 2 which, according to my publisher, is already written ... Cut Short says the next in the series will be published in 2010. That might soun like a long way away but believe me in terms of putting a book together it's not. (Do you detect a note of panic here?!) Anyway, enjoy your summer and have fun. That's what I plan to do as I run around signing books and feeling very clever because I'm now a published author.
I'm in the process of fixing a manuscript before it goes out again. Then I will be completing the next manuscript which is about a third done; followed by reading all my ARCs for their reviews.
Just dropping in to say Miss you.
Hope you're having a great summer!
:)
I've many travel plans: upcoming visit for my sister's 50th, trip to London (currently to be planned), a trip to view Historic homes.
I hope your time off blogging is rewarding for you and you achieve your goals!
A whole bunch of us are just going to be pining away for your return, Natasha.
How'd you get here, silly? I'm at my new blog, Adventures in Writing.
No pining! I'm back! Okay, I'm 1500 posts behind in Google Reader, but I'm still around, LOL...
