In The Works

image Lots of cool things in the works this summer. I’m excited and a bit nervous about it all. It’s alternately exhilarating and terrifying, LOL.

So anyway, I’m gonna disappear for the summer. I’m definitely going to miss you. But please drop a comment any time; I’ll read it and respond. I don’t want to miss anything important in your life! Or drop me an email (see above handle…

And I can always be found on Facebook. Except it’s been really slow the last the couple days. I’m not sure if it’s my machine or Facebook. :-)

So what have you got in the works for this summer?

41 bonus scribbles:

Charles Gramlich 5/31/2009 12:50:00 PM

Writing and reading and napping.

spyscribbler 5/31/2009 01:34:00 PM

That sounds like a dream, Charles. I'm putting all those on my list! :-)

Travis Erwin 5/31/2009 04:13:00 PM

Enjoy your respite. I'll be editing like a mad man for a while. Then back to querying.

spyscribbler 5/31/2009 04:18:00 PM

Very cool, Travis! Good luck!

Kath Calarco 5/31/2009 05:50:00 PM

I'll miss you! But will drop a line via Facebook. Enjoy your time!

(Did you hear me honk when I drove passed your town over the weekend?)

sue18 5/31/2009 07:13:00 PM

First major trip since 2005, this one a cruise up the Danube with a cyber friend.

Then an attempt to pick up an adjuct teaching slot at a couple of local colleges.

McKoala 5/31/2009 08:00:00 PM

Happy summer, Spy!

It's coming into winter here, so think of us.

Liz Wolfe 5/31/2009 08:25:00 PM

I can't believe you're disappearing for the entire summer! I'll miss you. I'm working on my wip. First draft is at 75K and I haven't decided exactly how I'm going to end it, so I'm going back through it for an edit hoping that will somehow let me figure it out. On a happy note, I've read through the first two chapters and it's not really awful...LOL.
Enjoy your exhilarating and terrifying summer activities!

Heather Dearly 5/31/2009 11:10:00 PM

Preparing to move and change my life. Nothing big. ;-)

Edie Ramer 5/31/2009 11:30:00 PM

I'll miss you, but I'll be busy too. I'm going to a conference next weekend -- really looking forward to it. Other than that, I don't know what will happen. Of course, I'll be writing and reading. Like Charles, I'll take a few naps.

Bevie 6/01/2009 07:24:00 AM

Selling off what I have and trying to find a new home. In the midst of all that - try to write something useful.

Enjoy your summer.

Amy Sue Nathan 6/01/2009 10:03:00 AM

My BFF and I decided it's the Summer of Me. (for each of us) Mine will include working, writing and losing some unwanted pounds.

Keep in touch!!!

Melanie Avila 6/01/2009 10:40:00 AM

Okay, um... the first three blogs I read every day have all decided to take a hiatus. WTF?

So you'll still be on facebook? Well thank god. Please don't be a stranger.

spyscribbler 6/01/2009 10:58:00 AM

Kath, was that honking noise?! :-) Did you see me wave?

XD (Which is the new way to say LOL. According to my high school student. I feel so hip.)

spyscribbler 6/01/2009 10:58:00 AM

Sue, up the Danube? WOW! That sounds like an incredible summer! Have a blast!

spyscribbler 6/01/2009 10:59:00 AM

Are you serious, McKoala? Wow. I just had to turn my heat on. I'm not sure our summer is going to come.

spyscribbler 6/01/2009 10:59:00 AM

Liz, I re-read a lot. It takes up a lot of time, but it's the only way I know how to go on!

spyscribbler 6/01/2009 11:00:00 AM

Heather, that doesn't sound big at all! :-)

spyscribbler 6/01/2009 11:00:00 AM

Edie, I'll see you on Facebook! :-) Have a blast at the conference!

spyscribbler 6/01/2009 11:00:00 AM

Bevie, that sure is going around this summer. That just might be one of the things in the works. :-)

spyscribbler 6/01/2009 11:01:00 AM

Amy, me too! I want to lose weight, read a lot, and of course, write a lot!

spyscribbler 6/01/2009 11:02:00 AM

Seriously Melanie? Wow. I always meant never to take a break. I'll probably be back in a month or two, but I might move to a new domain.

I'll see you on Facebook! And I'll still read your blogs about projectile vomit!

Eric Mayer,  6/01/2009 12:49:00 PM

Well, one thing on my summer list now is not reading your blog! Unfortunately. However, I reckon it's good to take a break and much better to take a planned break than just peter out and vanish for some undetermined period like some of us do. Enjoy!

Suzanne Casamento 6/01/2009 04:48:00 PM

Enjoy your disappearance! As for summer activities, I'll be revising my WIP.

Looking forward to your return!

Robin 6/01/2009 04:52:00 PM

I hope you have an awesome summer, Spy! I'll definitely stop in to say "hi". I'm going to go to Boston, go to the beach with the boys and Adam, and write a screenplay. Those are my groovy plans. And I'm doing open mike night at our local comedy club and writing an article for Berks Living.

It looks like a lot when you put it in one paragraph like that.

conley730 6/01/2009 05:19:00 PM

I'll miss you this summer. I just sent a friend request to you on FB though so hopefully I'll see you on there sometimes. Nothing special going on for me this summer. It's going to be the same ol' same ol' around here :(

writtenwyrdd 6/01/2009 07:10:00 PM

Have a fun summer! We'll be here when you get back.

Liz Kreger 6/03/2009 01:40:00 PM

Enjoy your summer, Spy. I plan to do the same old, same old. Work, family, write. Not necessarily in that order.

Have two books to revise and start shopping out, another to read over and figure out why an editor thought the ending was "contrived" and an urban fantasy that's been buzzing around in my head for the past month.

Avery DeBow 6/03/2009 03:30:00 PM

Writing and renovating. As usual.

I'll see you around Facebook.

Aimless Writer 6/07/2009 11:00:00 AM

Gonna miss your posts. They always inspire.
See you in September!

Barrie 6/07/2009 06:27:00 PM

Kid stuff, out-of-town visitors, writing, reading. Have a great summer!!

LaDonna 6/08/2009 11:05:00 AM

Hey Spy, have a fabulous summer! I'll be editing my latest, when I'm done, and enjoying the sunshine with my family! We always pack as much fun in the sun as we can, and it always goes by way too fast.

Pink Ink 6/11/2009 02:36:00 AM

Have a fun summer!

Writing, horses, camping...

Marcia Colette 6/20/2009 05:58:00 PM

What? You're taking a summer blogging vacation?

Hmmm. Wish I had thought of it first. LOL. Nevertheless, have fun and good luck with the "cool things in the works", hon. ;-)

Rick 6/26/2009 07:29:00 PM

You are such a copycat!!
Just kidding, Spy. Enjoy your sabbatical and can't wait for you to return.

Leigh Russell 6/27/2009 06:29:00 PM

Hope you're enjoying your break, spyscribbler. I'm not on facebook yet, still getting to grips with blogging. You're going to have a million comments here by the time you return. Miss you. Looking forward to hearing about your summer and catching up.
My summer? Filled with book signings, author talks ... and writing Book 2 which, according to my publisher, is already written ... Cut Short says the next in the series will be published in 2010. That might soun like a long way away but believe me in terms of putting a book together it's not. (Do you detect a note of panic here?!) Anyway, enjoy your summer and have fun. That's what I plan to do as I run around signing books and feeling very clever because I'm now a published author.

Barbara Martin 6/27/2009 11:37:00 PM

I'm in the process of fixing a manuscript before it goes out again. Then I will be completing the next manuscript which is about a third done; followed by reading all my ARCs for their reviews.

Aimless Writer 6/29/2009 02:44:00 PM

Just dropping in to say Miss you.
Hope you're having a great summer!

Lisa 6/29/2009 06:48:00 PM

I've many travel plans: upcoming visit for my sister's 50th, trip to London (currently to be planned), a trip to view Historic homes.

I hope your time off blogging is rewarding for you and you achieve your goals!

Rick 3/28/2010 04:01:00 PM

A whole bunch of us are just going to be pining away for your return, Natasha.

Natasha Fondren 3/28/2010 04:07:00 PM

How'd you get here, silly? I'm at my new blog, Adventures in Writing.

No pining! I'm back! Okay, I'm 1500 posts behind in Google Reader, but I'm still around, LOL...
